This transitional modern home on Suffolk Drive was our first of four homes we designed in Oak Estates. This is a highly sought after small neighborhood in Houston. The modern homes we have designed in the Oak Estates community are enhanced by the mature trees throughout the neighborhood. Oak Estates is within walking distance of Highland Village, a high-end shopping and dining district, and only minutes away from the Uptown/Galleria area. Suffolk Drive is on the outer bounds of the neighborhood and offers the challenge of having railroad tracks to the rear. We used a courtyard design to help minimize the noise of the passing trains. All living areas and the master bedroom face the courtyard for natural light and to enjoy the courtyard landscaping. The home was one of our early transitional designs – melding elements of both traditional and modern architecture into a great family home.
