Green Design and Building:
"Green Building" is a broad term. Many of the things that can make a home "Green" are not shown in a set of catalog plans, but will be determined by you in the selections you make. In our opinion, first and foremost you should keep energy efficiency in mind. Upgrade insulation, HVAC systems and windows as much as your budget will allow. You can also help air quality and the environment by choosing low VOC paints, carpets and plywoods and using reclaimed or renewable products as much as possible.
